Welcome to our blog!

Welcome to the blog for the Beta Kappa Chi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society of the Two Year College, founded in 1918. Its mission is to encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and provide development opportunities through participation in leadership and service.

We look forward to sharing news about our events and experiences as members of Phi Theta Kappa here.

Nifty Blogger. Didn't know Google had this. Every once in a while I check the Webboard but haven't seen much activity there. Hopefully hear more Kappa stuff here.

Stephen,

Glad you found the blog. Between the great new PTK web site Cori Ratliff created and the blog, you should be able to find all things Phi Theta Kappa. The web site has a complete calendar of events, our newsletter, and many other great things. Enjoy!

Ms. Swiridoff-what are your office hours, the club sounds interesting but I am thinking I am not eligible right now, just want to verify. Thanks Faith

I believe that it is time to dust the cobwebs off of this blog. Perhaps we can use this as a foci for member/officer communication.

I am just trying to post on the blog. Christine, do you like using this blog? I wonder how many people actually take the time to come on here and look up info or questions.

Sam,

I think the blog is a good way to have public conversations with our members. We've only had it since spring. Still, I don't think it's been used much. We've been short on posters and readers. I suspect the more we use it, the more it will be used. Perhaps experienced bloggers out there can suggest how we might use our blog in a more valuable way.

For information distribution, e-mail has worked best for us, and some conversation can take place via e-mail. I like the idea of a blog and hope it is a valuable space for our chapter. It's easy, open, and makes for organized discussions one can follow more easily than in e-mail.
